The Blue Ribbon Awards recognizes the extraordinary
efforts of school volunteer coordinators and their
volunteer teams for the achievements realized during
the previous school year.
For the academic year 2008-2009, 192 schools
and their volunteer programs were selected to receive
the 2009 Blue Ribbon award.
The 28th Annual Blue Ribbon
Awards
were held on
October 26th
at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, NH.
Leaders from the educational community as well as
state government leaders attended the award ceremony.

The Gold Circle Awards celebrates
the valuable partnerships that schools and volunteer
programs have with local businesses. By receiving
volunteer and other resource support from organizations
in their community, schools are able to balance resources
to provide their students with the best educational
experience possible.
In recognition of the achievements
during the 2008-2009 school year, 37
New Hampshire schools and 224 partnerships
were recognized at the 21st
Annual Gold Circle Achievement Awards
on September 29th, in Manchester
This year, we were pleased to have as our keynote speaker, Elaine Millen from Granite State College who will discuss ways to engage the Millennial generation.
Ms. Millen has over thirty
years experience in education as a teacher, principal,
director of special education, curriculum director,
and assistant superintendent of schools. She has taught
at both the undergraduate and graduate level at both
the College for Life Long Learning , now Granite State
College, where she is now Associate Dean at the Conway
campus.
