NH School Volunteer Week - May 19-23

Don't forget to recognize the incredible contributions your school volunteers provide to your school.

Introducing Education Station

To address the need of diminishing classroom supplies, New Hampshire Partners in Education is announcing a new initiative we call Education Station. This new program will collect donated supplies from local businesses and organizations and distribute them to New Hampshire schools.

The Annual School Sponsorship Campaign

As a non-profit association, we must rely on outside funding and local support in order for us to accomplish our initiatives. Some of these plans include increasing public awareness of the need for school volunteers through media outlets and public appearances; linking school needs with businesses within their community; maintaining an informative and relevant web site to allow volunteers to obtain school program ideas; and meeting with your volunteer coordinator at your school to share ideas and resources.

As your advocate for school volunteerism, we are seeking financial support from our participating schools.  For an annual contribution of $75.00, you can help us to continue our work in celebrating and recognizing your school volunteer program as well as helping us to expand our services though our new initiatives. Your contribution will help us to continue to be your voice.

Reinventing the Idea Exchange!

The Idea Exchange is being re-designed as a clearinghouse of speakers for schools and parents groups to have access to presenters on a wide range of subjects related to education and school volunteerism.

Currently we are in the process of developing a list of topics, categories and associated speakers. If you have a suggestion on a particular topic that you would like to have a presentation, please email Dan Hebert, Executive Director and we will attempt to find a speaker to match your needs.

If you have a an interest in presenting to schools and parent groups on a specific topic, program or service, please call Dan Hebert at 603-540-0620 to discuss.

The Power of the Penny Campaign!

Help your students and your school discover the mysterious power of a penny. This fun campaign will help your students understand the important lesson of saving pennies and raise money to help your school reach a specific goal along the way.

• Use it in the classroom to help reinforce teaching concepts
• Promote it in your school volunteer community to strengthen the spirit of working together
• Treat is as a school-wide project to raise funds for a particular goal or charity

At the 2007 Blue Ribbon Awards,

NH State Treasurer Catherine Provencher recognized 14 schools whose students raised over 1,300,000 pennies!

Again this year, questions about your Power of the Penny campaign will be included in the 2008 Blue Ribbon award application form that will be due in June. 2008.  More details here.
